In this section of the site, there will be a forum available for members to create a profile (if they would like to) and discuss issues with other members of the community. The forum will be monitored for inappropriate content because the underlining purpose of this site is to provide a safe zone for users. If member are posting obscene or offensive content that compromises the ultimate goal of the site.
The theory behind this aspect of the site is to provide individuals with the ability to connect with people who are encountering the same issues/questions they are. The research on this topic shows that creating bonds in the community is an important part of the information behaviour of this community. However, it is not always easy to find individuals who share this commonality, especially when individuals are initially dealing with the coming out phase. This forum provides those individuals with a place to connect and talk with other people who can provide a different set of information than the rest of the site.
